Do you know the difference between Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe and Pre galvanized steel pipe? Please check following!
Hot-dip galvanized pipe |
Pre galvanized pipe |
First, produce ordinary steel pipes with the required welding steel pipe specifications from the steel raw materials, and then proceed with galvanized treatment. The galvanized steel pipe produced in this way is called hot-dip galvanized steel pipe, also konwn as hot-dip galvanized steel pipe.Hot-dip galvanized is the process of immersing metal into a zinc melt.To manufacture galvanized steel using this method,we need to follow four steps:cleaning the surface,flux,hot-dip galvanized coating, and cooling.
|
The steel raw materials are first galvanized to produce galvanized strip steel, and then processed to produce steel pipes, which are called galvanized strip steel pipes or pre galvanized steel pipes. One of the davantages of pre galvanized over hot-dip galvanized is its better appearence.Pre galvanized steel includes some steps of hot-dip galvanized, such as cleaning the surface, immersing in a hot-dip zinc bath, and the coiling process.
|
Difference between hot-dip galvanized pipe and pre-galvanized |
Coating thickness:The minium average requirement in BS EN ISO1461 is a thick coating of 45~85 μm |
Coating thickness:The coating thickness may vary, but the coating thickness off plate is usually about 20 μm,and the coating thickness of pipe and wire is usually about 20~30μm. |
Continous coating:Apply continuous coating to the entire object |
Continuous coating:Cutting edge uncoated area |
Coating bonding:Strong metallurgical bonding with the base steel |
Coating bonding:Strong matallurgical bonding with the base steel |
Coating formability:It is not recommended to form after hot-dip galvanized as this may damage the coating |
Coating formability:The coatings can from normally without causing any damage |
Coating appearance:Usually bright,but variable |
Coating appearance:Usually achieving uniform brightness |
Wear resistance:The thicker hard zinc iron alloy layer has high wear resistance |
Wear resistance:The alloy layer reduces wear resistance |
Sacrificial protection:Provided the hightest level of sacrificial protection |
Sacrificial protection:Provided the hightest level of sacrificial protection
|
We can do |
1. All the pipes are high-frequency welded. |
2. Both inner and outer welded stabs can be removed. |
3. Special design available according to requirements. |
4. Pipe can be necked down and punched holes. |
5. Supplying BV or SGS Inspection if the client needs it. |
Hot-dip galvanized
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes are a type of steel pipe that has been coated with a layer of zinc to provide protection against corrosion. This process not only enhances the longevity of the pipes but also ensures that they maintain their structural integrity over time.
The Process of Hot-Dip Galvanizing
The hot-dip galvanizing process involves immersing cleaned and prepared steel pipes into a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 450°C. The zinc reacts with the steel to create an adherent coating that protects the steel from corrosion. This coating is not only a barrier to moisture and other corrosive elements but also acts as a sacrificial anode, meaning that the zinc will corrode preferentially to the steel, thus preserving the pipe's structural integrity.
The Benefits of Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Pipes
Corrosion Resistance: The primary advantage of hot-dip galvanized pipes is their resistance to corrosion. The zinc coating provides a protective barrier that prevents rust and other forms of corrosion from affecting the steel.
Durability: The zinc coating extends the life of the steel pipes, making them more durable and cost-effective in the long run.
Aesthetic Appeal: Galvanized pipes have a smooth, shiny surface that is visually appealing and can be used in applications where appearance is a consideration.
Environmentally Friendly: The use of zinc as a coating is environmentally friendly, as it is a non-toxic material that does not leach harmful substances into the environment.
The Applications of Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Pipes
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes are used in a wide range of applications due to their corrosion resistance and durability. Some of the common uses include:
Construction: In the construction industry, these pipes are used for structural support, scaffolding, and as conduits for electrical wiring.
Agriculture: They are used for irrigation systems and as fencing materials in agricultural settings.
Infrastructure: Galvanized pipes are used in the construction of bridges, highways, and other infrastructure projects.
Industrial: In industrial settings, they are used for transport pipeline, ventilation systems, and as support structures in manufacturing plants.
Plumbing: Galvanized pipes are used in water supply systems and for gas distribution in residential and commercial buildings.
Why they are so popular?
Cost-Effectiveness: The initial cost of galvanized pipes is often offset by their long service life and reduced maintenance requirements.
Availability: These pipes are widely available and can be sourced from numerous manufacturers and suppliers.
Ease of Installation: Galvanized pipes are easy to cut, bend, and join, making them convenient for installation.
Compliance with Standards: Hot-dip galvanized pipes meet various international standards for quality and safety, ensuring that they are reliable and safe for use.
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes offer a robust solution for applications where corrosion resistance and durability are paramount. Their widespread use across different industries is a testament to their effectiveness and the benefits they provide. As technology advances and new applications are discovered, the demand for these pipes is expected to continue growing, solidifying their position as a preferred material in construction and infrastructure projects worldwide.
